Understanding Longevity with Le Skunk

One of the biggest questions we get at Le Skunk is:
“How long will this last?”
And honestly, it’s a great question—because longevity is one of the most important (and misunderstood) parts of any fragrance.

Let’s break it down.

What Does “Longevity” Mean in Perfume?

Longevity is how long a perfume lasts after you spray it. Some scents are bold and stick around for hours—even days. Others are lighter and fade faster. Neither is “better” than the other—it depends on the style of the fragrance, your skin, and how it’s made.

What Affects Longevity in Dupes?

1. Fragrance Oils vs Alcohol

At Le Skunk, we use high concentrations of premium-grade oils to give our dupes solid staying power. A typical designer scent might dilute more with alcohol—but we balance our blends for performance.

2. The Notes Inside

Heavy notes like oud, amber, musk, or vanilla tend to last longer. Lighter ones like citrus or florals fade faster.
So if you're wearing something like Zafir (our take on Aventus), expect bold longevity.
Something like Brisa (inspired by Pacific Chill) is meant to be light, breezy, and refreshing—not clingy.

3. Skin Type & Environment

Fragrance reacts differently depending on your skin. Oily skin holds scent longer. Dry skin? It might fade faster.
Pro tip: Moisturize before spraying to give your scent more grip.

4. Application Matters

  • Spray on pulse points: wrists, neck, chest.

  • Don’t rub it in—just let it dry naturally.

  • Want more staying power? Lightly mist your clothes (always test first) or layer with an unscented lotion.

Are Dupes Weaker Than the Originals?

Let’s clear something up:
It all depends on the original.

If the designer fragrance you love is known for being soft, fleeting, or “barely there” after two hours—there’s not much we can do. We do our best to match the scent, but we’re in the business of perfumes, not magic.
